PostSubject: The Dark Tower   Mon May 01, 2017 8:24 pm

Midworld, Alomez had found himself in, where all the beams led as he had learned. The leylines were simply the beams of Earth but each world, each reality, each time even possessed their own but they all led here. Alomez had come here to find the center of nature and instead he had found...this. This tower that obstructed everything was supposed to be here. Damnit he assumed this place would be tantamount to the root and he had traveled worlds to reach it and yet here it stood, a testament to what he was trying to escape from and return with the power to destroy. So let this be a test of his will and abilities, that which he needed to defeat to be able to achieve his goal and step toward oneness with nature and separation from humanity. Before entering, Alomez let the slight wind carry his loose garb of woven leaves and vines, it only covered waist and reached down to below his knees. Allowing his calloused feet to feel the good or the evil, the nature or the obstructions that he walked upon and supported him in the most physical of senses.

Alomez entered the Dark Tower of Midworld and let his roots begin, his origin's passive nature of connecting with the Mana of the air, the ground, as foul as the desecrated ground was, he was one with it and through the disgusting oneness that he was, he would destroy it. He stood in the great room that served as it's entrance hall. The mighty tower contained countless floors both up and down and was a true marvel of human architecture and made of a queer stone of black and grey that seemed never to end hiding the corners of the hall in shadows.

Oh, and what a hall it was. Extending at least two hundred feet in it's width from his position at it's epicenter and a hundred feet or so in length. Spiraling stairs going both up and down in the back corners with a grand stair leading only up at the center of the far side from the entrance, easily fifty feet wide on it's own. Strangely though, Ameloz could not see any kind of ornamentation to it, simply stone in blocks that seemed more than fused together at some parts, consistently difficult to identify where the blocks were or if there were blocks instead of simply being a singular stone carved into the great tower, at least on this floor. The only thing that gave it away were the imperfect lines that were most easily identified in the archway that was the entrance and if one were to follow those lines with careful and close eyes they would be able to see the thin indentations that marked it as a feat of actual construction.

Alomez cared not and he would purify a marvel as well as a hovel and so he began. His ancient body empowered by the magics that were flowing through him from nature itself, weaving into the air and beginning the process of deconstructing the hanging aura that was human, the first step toward assimilation of the building back to the natural bits that it had come from, to reveal whatever nature and whatever lay for him at the end of his worldly-turned-otherworldly test.

Reports of spatial and temporal anomalies were getting more common, his researchers had told him. It was a rash decision to investigate himself, let alone to use Anchorage so close to one in order to escape, but it led to some... interesting places. Whatever happened, Kuro found himself once more in a grand castle, something far larger than should be reasonable. It was a marvelous structure, perhaps a bit bleak by his somewhat flamboyant standards, but it would make for a tolerable base of operations, should he manage to escape back to his own world. It was not hard to tell he was somewhere else, for the very presence of this world upon his body, his soul, felt different, as if something more intrinsically... structured were here. Something far more stable than the flimsy reality he was used to.

In truth, Kuro had been expecting a parallel universe, or some form of time travel, but wherever he was, it should not have been possible for him to arrive by accident. Though he did not believe in fate, he could perhaps explain such phenomenon as fixed points of reality, things that had to happen, one way or another. Or perhaps, it was simply his terrible luck manifesting once more. In any case, he needed to learn more about where he was before he could achieve any meaningful research, travel, or process. He was, in all ways, stuck for the time being. With little more than exploring to do, he was left with little choice as to what he had left. Even should he never manage to return, it would be fine, he could build more here. His actual options for returning were... less than likely, but it was fine. If his mind was right, then he had nothing to worry about, as the nature of this tower would send him back home soon.

With his usual extravagant movement, Kuro strode forth, his blue cloak swaying behind him. A lot of magi used robes because they made them seem more noble. Kuro, however, knew they served a far greater purpose. It helped that they really did look great. In any case, with his casual, if purposeful, stride, Kuro's gait brought him towards the area Alomez was in, unknowingly. He took note of the strange plants nearby, careful to stay away from them. Who knew whether plants of this world would react violently to him or not? In either case, he maintained a safe distance, keeping towards the middle of the large hall.

His first reaction to the sight of Alomez was not one of panic, but of curiosity. What was this stranger doing here, was it perhaps his home? That thought was erased as Alomez... changed. It was not so simple as the man transforming, but the very presence he exerted shifted from a human one to something not unlike one of the Beasts of Gaia. There was a difference, of course, but there was something far more than human going on here. Someone, he only became mildly irritated by the feeling, but only due to the reminder of those monsters from before. There was no need to be hostile yet, after all.

Figuring it best to announce his presence without hostility, Kuro walked forward more, eyes roaming the hall, his boots clapping with the ground now, whereas before they were silent. Even if he were to walk into a fight, he would prefer to face this opponent directly. He certainly did not have a taste for assassinations on more worthy opponents, and judging from the feeling he received from the very air... this was certainly a worthy opponent. Approaching Alomez from behind, Kuro paused once he was a safe distance away, though perhaps leaving ten meters between them was a bit much, it was still a distance so that neither could directly attack without the other noticing, and they would not have to shout, given the quiet atmosphere.
